Note that there is something relevant that you can run via the X11 Desktop support:

  1. New --> X11 Desktop 1.5 Wait about one minute for it to startup. This will be much faster *(e,g., a few seconds) as soon as @haraldschilly updates the CoCalc image, since there is a bug in Xpra (really Ubuntu) that makes startup take 1 minute too long, and I implemented a fix, but it's not live yet.
  2. In the X11 terminal, change to a directory that is part of a git repo
  3. Type gitk:
