With just a whiteboard, this wasn't absolutely critical. However, with slides this is really useful, since otherwise, people's presentations will end up looking sloppy, with text not quite lining up properly.
This should probably be on by default for slides and off by default for the whiteboard, but available in both cases. It could be toggle via a button in the toolbar.
