The first idea, or rather the belief that it will work, is a speculation. My speculation is that it will have no difference when someone is upset and angry and wants to express it instead of reading sweet stories about the company.
But the checkbox gives us a very valid ground to indeed just close rude tickets, regardless of its calming effects!
[ ] I understand that my support request must be polite and respectful. CoCalc support staff will close rude tickets without replying.
I'm tired of getting extremely rude messages in support from people assuming cocalc is some massive evil megacorporation. Perhaps integrating https://cocalc.com/about/team into https://cocalc.com/support/new could somehow better set people's expectations about exactly who they are contacting when they make a support request...?
We might also just put a checkbox that says if you are going to just abuse us and be rude, your support request will be closed, as a matter of policy.
If I (or somebody else) doesn't come up with a way to make this idea precise, then we should just close this ticket.
