.xls is not readable

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.when i upload xls file using php in mysql,In localhost or server it upload 
but wher i upload other server error will be display.
2.It can display server error also like:-

Server error
The website encountered an error while retrieving 
http://chatterpatter.com/price_india/site_admin/admin/excel/car_price_upload.php
. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.
Here are some suggestions:
Reload this web page later.
HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): An unexpected condition was encountered 
while the server was attempting to fulfill the request.

3.Plz tell me which setting i can change in php ini file or my code.

Hi,
I am also encountering the same issue.
Everything work fine on localhost but on remote server, I am getting 500 
Internal Server Error. Please share if there's a fix.
