Managed to provide a work-around for the middle-mouse support (child tabs in general). Using the multi-account container add-on, putting the forums and search-engines I use in their own containers and ticking that the containers are restricted only to those sites. So when use the middle-mouse on such sites to traverse to third-party domains they get TCed automatically.
Just have to remember on random sites to use the context-menu to follow links.
However would still like a way to respect the Firefox option for foreground tabs so leaving this open.
Hello, yes I agree that a simple middle click to open the link on the new TC would be great, but as I look, nothing has changed in 3 years :). Using the context menu is a bit of a boneheaded solution, but thanks for that at least.
Hey,
I prefer this lightweight approach to the bloated temporary containers add-on. However I constantly forget to use the add-on specific context menu item.
How could I hook this add-on to work on middle-clicks on links? Also I have enabled foreground tabs on Firefox settings, but the context menu item still opens only background tabs. Could there be an option for foreground tabs or checking if it is enabled in settings?
