Without a fix for GWT 2.0 (aka gwt-maven 1.2?), I've been forced to install the 
gwt-
dev.jar as:

gwt-dev-2.0.0-linux.jar

gwt-dev-2.0.0-mac.jar

gwt-dev-2.0.0-windows.jar

gwt-dev-2.0.0.jar

And I also installed an essentially empty zip as:

gwt-dev-2.0.0-linux-libs.zip

gwt-dev-2.0.0-mac-libs.zip

gwt-dev-2.0.0-windows-libs.zip

If anyone has a suggestion for a better method of upgrade, feel free to chime 
in.

This project has been closed a long time, see the codehaus mojo gwt maven 
plugin 
(which merged in this code).
