Which products are affected?
KML Documentation for gx:Track's simple example.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. View gx:Track simple example KML in HTML browser:
http://code.google.com/apis/kml/documentation/kmlreference.html#gxtrack
2. Opening Placemark and Folder elements are where closing Placemark and Folder
elements should be in the simple example.

What is the expected output or behavior? What do you see instead?
If import the example in Google Earth will get a KML parsing error.
What application versions (if any) are you using?
IE 8 for html browser and Google Earth Pro.
