FVE-novel is an excellent tool when I used it to recovering the viral genomes from the viral metagenome datasets, actually I obtained more draft genomes than using the normal workflow. Here, I have a question about whether I can use the custom database to recover the specific draft genomes of viruses which I only need, becuase sometime the metagenome datasets maybe so large and it may spend a mount of time for some step, such as assembly using Spades.
