What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Display the hardware manufactor (based on mac) in wifi details screen

Network Discovery uses a nic.db containing such info. You might want to have a 
look at it : https://github.com/rorist/android-network-discovery

Good hint! I'll experiment with the scripts. Basically they grab the IEEE list 
(http://standards.ieee.org/regauth/oui/oui.txt) and parse it..
