This addon would have been my number 1 retopology tool in blender if it was rendering correctly in edit mode when you apply shrinkwrap modifier addon on your mesh. Sadly, I am not a skilled blender developer to do anything about it and realize that this is probably quite an issue. But if you can do it, please make this addon respect the shrinkwrap modifier, and it will be a number 1 tool for retopology!

PolyQuilt supports snapping to other objects, so basically you can do retopology without shrinkwrap. What kind of cases do you need shrinkwrap?

Hi! Thank you for your response. Indeed you can use snapping, but utilizing shrinkwrap at times is good for the consistency of preserving the retopologized mesh and not worrying too much that you'll make accidental mistakes. As an example of such, user might exit the edit mode and for example adjust the initial mesh a bit and it will be a hassle to snap vertices back if he's not using shrinkwrap. Or I might suddenly use blender's loopcut tool (not polyquilts loopcut) and my vertices might not be snapped anymore and I won't notice it and go on retopologizing and make mistakes. Or sometimes you can move your vertices a little bit accidentally and it will result in inconsistencies. If polyquilt could respect rendering the shrinkwrap in edit mode at least as an option it would have been very comfortable. I still use shrinkwrap whenever I use polyquilt, if I make mistakes I apply it and then reapply new shrinkwrap as a safe-guard option, but I'd rather have an option to see shrinkwrap effect in edit mode when I use polyquilt.
