LLVM Release build fails - Ubuntu 7.0.4 - Intel #76

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Fresh Install of Ubuntu (VM on my case)
2. sudo apt-get install (bison,flex,subversion) 
3. following instrucationup to ./configure --enable-optimized

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
To be build 

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Ubuntu 7.0.4 on VM

This is what do and get:

hilay@hilay-desktop:~/llvm-svn$ ./configure --enable-optimized

checking target system type... i686-pc-linux-gnulibc1

checking for gcc... gcc
checking for C compiler default output file name... configure: error: C 
compiler cannot create executables 

and config.log attached

Do you have dev tools installed in Ubuntu?  What arch (32 or 64bit?)

a. I have dev tools installed (not all packages)
b. 32Bit

I reinstalled linux and that particular problem resolved
