[ON HOLD] Replace thread gem dependency with concurrent-ruby gem #77

Gem thread is licensed under WTFPL license and has not been updated since 2016. Replacing it with concurrent-ruby, which is distributed under MIT license.

PR is on hold until gem update is validated in the applications that use this gem.
