"Campaign Response by Recipient Activity" (Status page) has recently become unreliable. #10282

Due to the surge of mailscanners "clicking" (i.e. downloading to scan) links in emails sent by SuiteCRM the report/status of how many clicks were REALLY clicked has become unreliable if not useless.

Issue

Due to the surge of mailscanners "clicking" (i.e. downloading to scan) links in emails sent by SuiteCRM the report/status of how many clicks were REALLY clicked has become unreliable if not useless.

I am not sure where/how to report this but it is an issue, really - not sure whether this is feedback or issue.

Expected Behavior

One would expect "true" numbers (if one can ever say that) to be displayed for the clicks, i.e. the real numbers would be displayed.

Actual Behavior

Whenever I send out a mail campaign about 15 minutes later after I started sending I have about 2 times as many clciks as I have emails send. At the end I have about 3 times as many. I also see that in many cases every link in an email is clicked (no human would ever do that).

Possible Fix

I have no clue, this is the reason for raising this issue, perhaps to discuss strategies within the SuiteCRM core system to have better numbers.

Steps to Reproduce

This may (or may not) work for everyone

  1. make a campaign
  2. send it
  3. repeatetly refresh the REPORT/STATUS page to see the responses.

Context

The graphs within the report section have become unreliable, close to being useless. So that part of a campaign does not help us to see the reponses.
