Is there recent work on this (the lead board hasn't changed since 2018)?

I too would like to know whatever became of this? Were the results improved upon? Has this work spurred further papers and further developments in multitask NLP learning? Is this still a live work in some form or another?

Yes, it is still active. But despite a lot of great announcements, nobody has yet been able to beat our numbers. You can see Google scholar for related papers that cite this one.

Out of curiosity which formal venue (conference / journal) was the paper published on? I can't seem to find it other than the axriv version
