Give the 3 most important outcomes each team member got from each interview. (Note you do not need to provide the detailed answers provided by the interviewees, only your team members’ most important takeaways from each interview.)

ShahinKhalkhali commented 1 year ago

Interview 1: 1) Some students prefer going to classrooms to study rather than in the library 2) Some students prioritize going into rooms with white boards 3) Some students want a digital schedule of all classrooms and lab rooms

Interview 2: 1) Depending on the application, people will choose to categorize their working spaces (ie: handheld vs desktop) based on the level of difficulty. 2) Profiles for multiple types of users are an effective way to help navigate app better. 3) App should be reliable with good functionality in order for the project to be successful.

Interview 1:

  1. it's usually hard for students to find a place at school to study especially as a group/team especially if whiteboards are needed
  2. students prefer to have access online to the schedule of labs and classrooms as well as the available equipment in each room
  3. knowing that a seat or a room is available is not enough, students would prefer to be able to reserve, to track their favorite spots, as well as to get alerts on when that seat/room is no longer available.

Interview 2:

  1. students usually are confused about how/where to find/reserve spots at the library, getting directions would be a nice feature to have
  2. having visual data about the busiest areas and times is a nice feature to have
  3. Reliability and efficiency are important keys for this project to be successful

Interview 1:

  1. Raised a good point that timing the availability of seats can lead to conflicting issues. Adding delay may help this issue if two groups of students are heading to the same room/seats.
  2. Some rooms have varying wifi strength/reliability, so including that as a filter may be useful depending on whether the students who want to reserve that room care about or don't care about the wifi speed.
  3. Having the app linked to your class schedule can help you find the closest seating you prefer right after class.

Interview 2:

  1. The reliability of the app is a big factor to the app's success.
  2. Time saving is one of the main benefits of this app
  3. The mention of noise level reduction is something the library can benefit from.

  3. Graphical plan of study room with real-time view of available seats, and also just list of rooms with available seats.

Interview 2:

  1. Different profiles for Students and Admins
  2. Admin profile: Add building, add study room to building, add seat(s) to study room, etc.

  1. Most students have a hard time finding the perfect spot to study due to the environment of the place.
  2. Most students like to use apps to keep their studies organized
  3. Students like to have things in one place (their phone) an app would be very useful for them to navigate study spots in the library with the right environment.

Interview 2:

  1. Simplicity and straight to the point is the best approach for the app.
  2. Admin profiles to edit and add to the app.
  3. Maintenance might be difficult due to the huge number of seats and sensors needed.
