can't move mouse without click and dragging #121

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Run Impressive slideshow presentation software, and x11vnc on host
2. Connect with client and use Mouse Pointer Control mode.
3. Try to move mouse over Impressive window. Always a click and drag,
never a simple movement.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I'd like to simply move the mouse pointer without sending a click and drag.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Not sure the version, sorry. Motorola Droid

Please provide any additional information below.

First, I'm new to this software. Has tons of potential - nice work.

I imagine this happens with other software too. In my case, I'm trying to
give a presentation with Impressive, and remote control it from my motorola
droid. I want to shut up my friend who goes on about keynote and its
corresponding iphone app. :)

Impressive has several features I cannot seem to take advantage of through
the VNC client.

First, there's a click and drag feature. The area dragged over will be
highlighted, when the mouse is released. This can be made to work over the
client.

Second, press Enter key for a "spotlight" which highlights a circle around
the mouse cursor. This cursor can be moved around to highlight parts of
the slide. This cannot be made to work, because the moment you move the
cursor, you are dragging, not simply moving the cursor, so the drag feature
takes effect when you don't want it to. Not also you cannot place the
spotlight in one place by simply touching the screen. That registers as a
mouse click which sends the presentation to the next slide.

So, my problem happes to be with Impressive presentation software, but I
believe this is a general problem with the client: you cannot move the
mouse without a click.

I'd like to see an input mode where touch the screen only moves the mouse,
and pressing the droid's little button on the right of the keyboard clicks
the mouse and if held holds down the button. Unfortunatly that little
button currently cycles through input modes, which may be a problem.

I hope you can help. Thanks for the cool software.

You need to use one of the newer input modes. In "Mouse-pointer control mode"
(which
toggles with Pan mode with the trackball click) it works as you say. You might
want
to try "Touch pan, zoom and mouse" in which a touch-drag is a pan, a touch tap
is a
mouse-click, a long touch starts a click and drag, and the trackball also moves
the
mouse. You might also want to try "Touch pan; trackball zoom" where the
trackball
works the mouse and touch pans the screen. Change Input Modes from the menu
once
you've connected.
