Dataset description

We created an index to look at carbon security in the sagebrush steppe across the Great Basin. Our index uses a fractional plant cover dataset from the Rangeland Analysis Platform (https://rangelands.app/), a fire probability model dataset created for the Great Basin (Smith et al., 2023), and the resistance and resilience categorical dataset created for the sagebrush steppe (Chambers et al., 2014, 2017). Our carbon security index (CSI) is made up of three parts as following:

CSI = Preferred Rangeland Cover Index + Resistance & Resilience – P(Fire)

The result is an index that spans from -2 to +2 and can be used to compare carbon security in different spatial.

For greater detail of methods and rational please read the associated paper (In Press).

Can you share the associated paper (a preprint is fine) and citation links ? I am guessing this is a new paper not the ones you have included in the reference?

rococonnor commented 3 months ago

I don't currently have the associated paper citation as of yet, it was accepted but hasn't been given a DOI because it is part of a special issue. I also didn't do a preprint. You are correct in assuming that the listed citations is not the paper.

This dataset draft has been completed but I would need a license for this dataset, could you let me know which license you would be release the dataset under. You can find the draft page here https://gee-community-catalog.org/projects/csi/ and I have added a placeholder license CC by 4.0 License

I would like a CC 4.0.

That sounds great that is exactly the license I have used. You can find the dataset page here https://gee-community-catalog.org/projects/csi and this has been included in release 2.9.0. Thank you for contributing
