About #14: you implemented just alternate language pages. There is also alternate mobile pages I mentioned in original issue — https://developers.google.com/search/mobile-sites/mobile-seo/separate-urls#annotation-in-sitemaps

@samdark is there a reason this pull wasn't merged? We want to use this feature for our sitemap generation.

Yes but it's frozen now due to lack of time.
