Serious Yosemite system crash bug #468

First of all, if you have any Haxies, InputManagers, SIMBL plugins or
similar operating system hacks installed, please remove them first, restart
the program, and make sure the bug is reproducible without them.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Opening an image

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
One of two things may occur -- sometimes my computer locks up and I have to
hold the power button to turn it off. In this mode everything looks normal
with the loading symbol for a mouse pointer, but the computer is actually
frozen except for the mouse. When I restart the popup reports that there had
been a graphics device error. This problem usually occurs if the computer has
been on for a while.

If I've freshly rebooted (such as after it crashes as above) and open an image,
the OS color gets screwed up. Everything looks washed out and grainy, but the
computer runs normally. Closing Xee fixes the color.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Latest patched version of Yosemite 10.10.1. Latest patched version of Xee 3.4

Please provide any additional information below.
I have a Macbook Pro with an Intel HD Graphics 4000 and a NVIDIA GeForce GT
650M.

Crashes in the graphics driver should be reported to Apple, as I have no
control over that and it should not crash from normal usage. Some of Xee's
shaders are on the heavier side and may expose driver bugs.

To avoid it, go to the view menu and select a lower scaling quality.
