1. Run the page
2. Notice the black-and-whiteness
3. Imagine pretty colours, because you sure cant see them

I think a "pretty site" is one without too much colour, it should be simple and
let
its content or functions be the reason people like it. I don't want us to make
a
site that looks tacky and doesn't deliver. Lets make it simple, elegant, and
put
nothing more than is required in the page. Don't fill it with clutter.

Is anyone else doing human-computer interactions this sem?

I did it last semester. Yes the focus during our prototype designs was often on
how
the functionality is presented. But I think what Arlo has in mind (at least the
link
to the site he gave me) is indeed elegant but not distracting.

Hmm another issue is though that our website is most likely not going to be
"used"
during the presentation but will certainly be "seen". So we do need our first
impression to be a good one and something that catches the audience's eye.

I have made the style sheet which works for all the tests I can put it through.
Please try it on different browsers and give me feed back!
IE8, Firefox 3 passed.

Site at least looks consistent in all major browsers and I think the layout is
good.
More user testing is needed to find out exactly what users look for in terms of
colour scheme. Maybe we should hire an artist to do the colouring as apparently
Im
crap at it :) Anyway we arent going to make anymore changes.
