Feature Request: Album opens Gallery in Lightbox instead of landing on Gallery display page

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. http://komasketmusicfestival.com/vendors 
There are 3 albums on the page which display the galleries contained in each. 
2. Clicking on a gallery thumb redirects to the gallery display page
3. Clicking on an image then opens the lightbox for that gallery.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I (and many others) would like a shortcode tag to eliminate click #2.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Operating System : Linux (32 Bit)
NGG Version: 1.7.4
PHP Version : 5.2.17

Please provide any additional information below.

Tried a few hacks to no avail. LOVE the plugin. It's easy to modify and 
amazing. 
If you could somehow load the gallery into a lightbox when you click on it's 
thumbnail that would be fan-freaking-tastic

I am also looking for some modifications of NextGEN Gallery to open the gallery 
of an album in a lightbox.

Let's assume we want to post on a page an album with photos, the album has 4 
galleries: Christmas, Seaside holiday, John Birthday and Halloween. The album 
display only the cover image...but on click, it should open the lightbox and 
load there all the images in that specific album.
