Static Front Page: Broken pagination with activate permalinks #390

1. Activate permerlinks in Nextgen and update WordPress link structure.
2. Create a gallery with enough images for it to be shown over two pages
3. Add the gallery to a standard page [nggallery id=1]
4. Reading Settings > Mark the page as the Static Front page
5. Visit the homepage.

I'm using Nextgen 1.8.2 and WP 3.2.1

Basically the next gallery page link (arrow) is generating the wrong URL for 
the next page.

This should be generated...
/illustrations/gallery/page-2/

But when the same page is used as a Static Front page only this is generated...
/gallery/page-2/
... and produces a 404 when clicked.

This also happens when using the function ngg_get_albums(). So the overall 
permalink function is not working correctly

See r975, I've set now the link like you mentioned, however it doesn't work. 
The reason is the clever canonical rewrite rules( see 
http://markjaquith.wordpress.com/2007/09/25/wordpress-23-canonical-urls/), they 
always redirect to the pure home page.

Currently I have no idea to get this running (with nice permalinks), so I keep 
this issue open until I find a solution (or someone gives me a hint)

Hey guys, anybody figure this out? Would hate to have a permanent directory 
just in order for the pagination to work correctly.

I'm having this problem too.
I'm surprised that it's been over a year and this still isn't fixed :(
