A browser extension would allow the user to select how links in NewsBlur open:

A new active tab
A new background tab
A new window

An unread count (and option between unread/focus or focus only) would be nice.

An extension like this, should also have the functionality of detecting rss feeds on the current site and let me add it to a specified folder in Newsblur. This way, I won't have to have two extensions. Currently I'm using RSS Subscription Extension (by Google)
