Make sure the Noto Color Emoji font isn't installed. If you're using Ubuntu, try sudo apt uninstall fonts-noto-color-emoji.

That smiley you see on Chromium is from that font

can't find this file in ubuntu :/

@luikluikluik That file is ~/.config/fontconfig/fonts.conf on Ubuntu 22.04.

@memesforlife1 Visiting about:config and setting the font.name-list.emoji to Apple Color Emoji makes these emojis work in FireFox (flatpak distribution) for me.
