Extend hydra derivative functionality for geospatial models. Here are some ideas:

File characterization for geospatial formats

Extraction of geospatial metadata into model (bbox from shapefile)

Reprojection of vector and raster(?) data for display ( --> WGS 84)

Using gdal/ogr is going to be crucial here. Particularly tools like ogrinfo.
