startup jetty #5

This fixed the jetty startup issue for me. Give it a try and see if works.

What jetty startup issues did you run into? I'd be interested in hearing whether you still see the issues with the latest commits.

I think it was because I didn't wait long enough for Jetty to state. I've updated the README to reflect that.
