No Works Created in Create Batch of Works #2354

Descriptive summary

We are running Hyku version 6 with all main commits up to the latest, 69b3e60.

When creating a batch of works by either choosing specific files or choosing a folder, the system seems to tell us that everything is working as it should, but those items never show up.

In this example, we have 8 existing works. I am bringing in 6 more files using Create Batch of Works. In the last screenshot, you can see that no files have been added. batch1 batch2 batch3

Rationale

There are many times a library would want to add more than one item at a time, but not want to use Bulkrax, particularly if metadata is very similar among the items.

Expected behavior

When using Create Batch of Works, those works are added to the repository in a similar manner than allows users to add works one at a time.

Actual behavior

The works are not added to the repository. I cannot tell what the reason might be.

Steps to reproduce the behavior

  1. Open Dashboard in Hyku
  2. Be sure that creating batch of works is enabled in Settings - Features
  3. Open Works
  4. Choose Create Batch of Works
  5. Choose a few files to import
  6. Provide required metadata
  7. Choose collection
  8. Make works public
  9. Accept deposit agreement
  10. Save
