doesn't capture at all #355

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.On either Chromebook or Windows XP in Chrome browser
2.Click capture icon
3. Then pick any of the 3 options. They capture nothing.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Capture Region will sometimes allow to pick a region normally and click OK
Then the region goes away, and...  Nothing happens.
Other two option (Capture Visible, Capture Whole Page) Nothing happens either.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1. Chromebook Acer C720 latest updates
2. Windows XP all updates, Chrome browser all latest updates

Please provide any additional information below.
It used to work OK (with some glitches) on both platforms till a few weeks ago.

One more strange behavior.  If in Options I try to enable keyboard shortcuts, 
the pull downs to choose key-character don't work. So saving with shortcuts is 
not allowed, giving: "Shortcuts conflict."
