Describe what you noticed and did

  1. Install Stremio inside of a sandbox, any type.
  2. Run it.
  3. Login
  4. Get this error message: image
  5. The program still seems to work okay, it's just that this message keeps popping up.

How often did you encounter it so far?

Every time I start Stremio

Affected program

Latest Stremio, it hasn't been updated in like 6 months or so

Download link

https://www.stremio.com/

Where is the program located?

The program is installed only inside a sandbox (NOT in the real system anyway).

Expected behavior

I shouldn't be getting this message every time I start Stremio. The program itself still seems to work

What is your Windows edition and version?

Windows 10 Education 64-bit

In which Windows account you have this problem?

A Microsoft account (Standard user).

Please mention any installed security software

Microsoft Defender

What version of Sandboxie are you running?

Sandboxie-Plus v.1.9.6 64-bit

Is it a new installation of Sandboxie?

I just updated Sandboxie from a previous version (I don't remember which one).

Is it a regression?

Doesn't happen in 1.8.4 First starts happening on 1.9.0

In which sandbox type you have this problem?

In a standard isolation sandbox (yellow sandbox icon).

Can you reproduce this problem on a new empty sandbox?

Not relevant to my request.

Did you previously enable some security policy settings outside Sandboxie?

its strange when starting the program for the first time from the installer i see the issue but all subsequent starts seams fine, is this also your experience? Also there ware no breaking changes from 1.8.4 to 1.9.0 so perhaps the root cause is a different one and the observed installer related behavior masked it and it was present in older builds?

Dyras commented 1 year ago

@DavidXanatos Every start shows this error for me, I've "solved" it by simply blocking the alert itself, because aside from this message popping up all the time the program works great.

No clue if it was present in past builds. Anything else I can test to see what could be causing it?
