Spotify desktop app in sandbox doesn’t open web browser to be able to login to spotify.
What version of Sandboxie are you running?
Latest
The latest from GitHub or the latest from https://sandboxie-plus.com/downloads? Sometimes they can be different...
Classic or Plus edition?
Windows 10 22h2
32-bit or 64-bit?
I tried Chrome, Mozilla and Edge. Mozilla 114.0 Chrome latest
V1.9.6 version
Tried classic and plus, doesnt work both
64bits
Tried now sandboxie v1.9.7 version . Still doesn’t open browser when trying to logij with spotify desktop app
I've just tried to install the latest Spotify version in a new standard sandbox with default settings, but I'm unable to reproduce your issue.
Perhaps you have a pending session of a Spotify update outside the sandbox that somehow interrupts the sandbox content or the sandbox could be so inconsistent after a number of updates that you might need to create a new one.
You mean for you it opened login browser? I even tried on new pc with new sandboxie.
I had to avoid the automatic login in Spotify outside the sandbox, now I can reproduce this.
At the time being, I don't have any clue about a workaround or a fix, the trace log doesn't seem to indicate anything obvious.
How did you login the first time? It is ok if it logins outside sandbox, but desktop app runs on sandbox. i need to be able login to app doesnt matter outside or not. Just the app need to be on the sandbox
I was previously logged in the Spotify installation outside the sandbox, so the Spotify login in the standard sandbox worked fine. However, I assume that other users won't be happy to keep the program installed outside the sandbox.
Yeah, so there is nothing we can do?
Try this:
DisableRTBlacklist=y
@offhub
Correct me if I'm wrong, I think you were able to find the workaround because of the connection between DisableRTBlacklist
and Windows.System.Launcher
For a future reference, I've updated the original post with a trace log extract.
So let's wait for a fix (hopefully soon).
Please check again. I wasn't able to reproduce the issue now.
please i also have a problem with spotify on sandboxie but i didn't understand where i have to put this link : DisableRTBlacklist=y ? @offhub
Sandboxie Plus > right click on the sandbox > Sandbox Options > Edit Ini Section > copy and paste this line to the bottom of the list > OK
OR
Sandboxie Classic > Configure menu > Edit Configuration > scroll down to your [sandbox] of choice > copy and paste this line at the end of your [sandbox] settings > save the Sandboxie.ini file from Notepad itself and close it
it works thank you so much!!
Good evening, I have the same problem, the Spotify connection page does not open... I did not understand what I should do Copy and paste the line to the bottom of the list if anyone can help me??? THANKS
I've tweaked the previous reply a bit, it should be more clear now.
J'ai un peu modifié la réponse précédente, elle devrait être plus claire maintenant.
Thanks, I tried but it doesn't work. The login page managed to open only once however after login the page marked "This site is inaccessible 127.0.0.1 does not allow login"
What is your Windows edition and version? For a list of versions, see Windows 11 current versions or Windows 10 current versions.
Did you test the behavior in a completely new standard sandbox?
Could you provide a log with the latest stable version of Sandboxie? For instructions, see here.
Could you attach your Sandboxie.ini settings (including the GlobalSettings section)? The file is usually located in C:\Windows.
Does Spotify work by applying these settings for at least 5 minutes?
The result of these steps may help @DavidXanatos to reconsider this issue that is apparently limited to standard sandboxes.
1- Windows 11 2- Yes and same problem
For the 2 other pieces of information requested, I don't know what it is? Or where to find them?
I have included additional images and links in my previous comment, in case could you ask someone near you to provide the requested information?
Please try the following steps:
BlockNetworkFiles=y
with BlockNetworkFiles=n
and apply this lineHey i have the same probleme, i tried to do write this in the ini section "DisableRTBlacklist=y" and it finally open a browser but when i try to connecte it say that a firewall may be blocking @offhub
BlockNetworkFiles=y
etBlockNetworkFiles=n
appliquez cette ligne
I don't understand at all how to do it, I tried everything but no browser opens, please help me
