Firefox couldn't use AV1/HEVC decoder extension due to sandboxie doesn't support UWP apps #3587

Is your feature request related to a problem or use case?

  1. Install AV1 decoder extension from https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9MVZQVXJBQ9V
  2. Run firefox outside of sandbox, open about:support
  3. You can see AV1 hardware decode is supported in about:support - "media" section
  4. Run firefox in sandbox, open about:support
  5. You can see AV1 hardware decode is unsupported in about:support - "media" section

Describe the solution you'd like

I think if sandboxie supports UWP, might resolve this issue.

@0x391F could you share a screenshot or copy/paste everything you have under about:support#media? I'm interested in the status of the other codecs as well.

It is because the sandboxie doesn't yet support UWP apps #19
