KaTrain SGF File Association Failure on Windows 11 #678

Hello,

I am encountering a consistent issue with associating SGF files with KaTrain on Windows 11. When attempting to use the "Open with" option from the right-click context menu, the selection window flashes and fails to set KaTrain as the default application for SGF files.

Operating System: Windows 11 (issue occurs on different machines, both desktop PC and laptop) KaTrain Version: 1.14.0 (latest)

Reproduction Steps:

  1. Right-click on an SGF file in the Windows 11 File Explorer
  2. Select "Open with" and then choose "More apps"
  3. Look for KaTrain in the application list. If not present, navigate to KaTrain's executable using "Look for another app on this PC"
  4. Select KaTrain executable and press "OK"
  5. The "Open with" menu flashes/reopens instead of associating the file

Note: The issue does not occur in Windows 10, based on feedback from other users.

There is no apparent error message or console output as the application does not launch. Opening SGF files from within KaTrain itself works as expected. I have recorded a video comparing the successful file association with Sabaki and the unsuccessful association attempt with KaTrain: youtube link
