I like the shades of green approach, but I think differentiating the first option with blue really helps in speeding up visual recognition. Sometimes I find myself trying to differentiate all the greens...
I wish blue were the default for the best next move, but ideally, there could be customizability of all the colors or gradients, I suppose.
