Why not just make this a redirect?
@zenhack Funny enough, it is! https://sandstorm.io/apps redirects. But this page can be found at https://sandstorm.io/apps/index and is hence, pretty hard to get to unless you're trying for it. I kind of like that it's still there, everything even still works... but IMHO we probably should make this change to it just in case. (It's also probably a relatively good example of a "roll your own private app market" code you could use, if you didn't care about automatic updates or the like...)
Maybe we should set up the redirect in the html with a <meta>
, tag, so that we get redirected no matter how we land on this page, rather than relying on the webserver's config.
I still like the idea of retaining this as a sample project of "make your own custom app market that's really easy to run", since spinning up your own app index server and instance of the app market may be more than some people want to get into.
If feelings about removing it entirely are very strong, perhaps we can export it into a separate repo as just a sample.
I enjoy that this page still exists, and includes ancient Sandstorm apps that still work. However, I feel like we should probably update the top of the page to specify where the current app site is, in case someone somehow manages to get here accidentally. I also deleted Oasis from it.
