Vim paste results in loss of synchronization #2

When I:

Use visual mode to select a region of text that includes a newline
Yank or delete that region
Paste using "p" (but not "P"!)

ShareLaTeX dies of desynchronization and tries to reconnect. It often loses the clipboard contents along the way, which is not fantastic.
