Email exchange today with Rich C:

Katy to Rich:

I’ve found out the reason for this - just wanted to check that you definitely want it changed, because it seems to be a feature that economises on number of picks needed. Those wells that are scattered to the right of the others (G7, C8, D8 etc.) have been placed in ‘pick 1’ because they have the same source plate as wells earlier on the plate. So they are ‘freebees’ if you like – we can put them in the first pick without going over the maximum number of beds on the robot. Does that make sense? I assume you still want it changed, but if you can just confirm that would be great.

Rich to Katy:

Thanks for looking into this, I understand now why this is happening. Actually this should be left because for UKB CPing resources are at a premium and so these “freebees” are welcome. I had not realised they are from the same source plate. Please close the story :0)
