Feature: Possibility to add references to documents instead of links #12

Hi 🖐 been using markdown plugin for while, mostly on blog posts and long form writing.

I have encountered a couple of situations where instead of adding url's through markdown the users and myself needed to add url that reference to posts already published

I was wondering if this is something super complicated to do or even if it's on your pipeline?

Hello @jnrebelo ! There is no plan for now to add this kind of capability to this markdown plugin. I suspect that would require some extensions or something like MDX.

We do have a fully featured rich text editor called Portable Text that supports this. It won't be markdown, but it will support a lot more, and it still renders to HTML, React components, anything really.
