| didn't think of this before. A conversational Al can definitely replace lots of manual programming. e.g. programming for Al researcher, or astrophysicist is probably a huge waste of their time, since they're not very experienced and what they do is rather simple stuff.
It may not replace developers, but a significant part of programming, probably.
This is a huge positive actually, atleast for someone who wants to start a software app business . The initial investment is lower, since they don't need to 1. Employ many different kinds of developers for particular tasks, 2. Time taken to release features is reduced.
3. Stuff like customer support can be automated, so that's another saving of cost and time (less hiring needed, less risk).
All this, if true means that being an independent business is easier than before. in other words, The critical mass (or capital) needed to become independent business will be reduced. aka risk of starting a business will reduce.
Derived fact: being a generalist has more leverage then before
This doesn't necessarily mean a loss of jobs. Maybe companies are/were more ambitious but moved slowly because of the cost and risk. In short, less "won't fix" labels on GitHub.
nextL Tight (small) companies (maybe even individuals) with an ambitious attitude have more leverage if code writing Al becomes successful
