I experienced this recently. It feels like grunt work.

I understand why this usually happens, because even if implementations are tractable (i.e. tools exist). UI/UX design is still a human dominated process.

Until that is made tractable, one will have to generally do this seemingly 'grunt work'.

It's important to note that, app development is a feeder system for humans. It's non-predictive computation.
