Clarification on Repository Licensing #1

Open Andrei-Fogoros opened 1 month ago

Andrei-Fogoros commented 1 month ago

Hello @sanje2v,

I would like to inquire about the applicable license for this repository. The root directory lacks a license file, and in the "libudis86" folder, there is a License file under the BSD-2-Clause. However, in the "PEPropPageExt" folder, which shares the same name as this repository, there is a "ReadMe.txt" file containing the following statement:

"License: The author disclaims any liability from the use of this product. Both the product and source code are free for research and personal use. Commercial use is restricted."

Could you please clarify which license applies?

Thank you in advance!

Hi Andrei, Thanks for your interest in my work.

Please consider the following as the official license agreement for PEPropPageExt (libudis86 is a third-party optional software library with its own BSD license) until I add a LICENSE file later:

This software can be used and redistributed royalty-free as well as used derivatively in another personal work (non-commercial) without any permission from the original author. The author claims no liability of damage and provides no guarantee in providing this software. Any commercial usage of any part of this work without explicit permission from the original author is prohibited. An explicit IP agreement with the author will be required to use any part of this software in any commercial setting.
