geocoding "blinks" at you - displays the map twice #11

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. from search page, type where = "pismo beach, ca"
2. type where = "New York city"

What do you see instead?
* map displays new york city, then the page refreshes and displays new york
city again.

What is the expected output? 
Should display twice

NOTE: This is a problem in the way we use the geocoding API.
