@AnnaRybakovaT Please see issue5 readme.txt for instructions (instructions very similar to the Greek proofread text).
There are 203 matches in 202 lines for 'slav.'
But only 39 instances of <lang n="Slavonic">
.
Do any other of those 203 need <lang n="Slavonic">X</lang>
markup?
My working won't be as simple as Jim might wish to be.
So, will wait for Anna to take up the job!
Sounds good.
Do any other of those 203 need
X markup?
@funderburkjim not sure what the question actually means. We have a list?

Dear Jim, I will try to do this task before my "summer break". Just now I don't have much free time but I hope to find some days in late May to close this topic.
One question - how do you recomend to identify instances without "Slavonic" markup?
@AnnaRybakovaT I'm not sure whether the 'slav.' without <lang n="Slavonic">
need any attention.
When you have time for the 'slavonic' proof-reading, post a message and discuss how to proceed with @Andhrabharati.
From my perspective, all I will need is a 'change_3.txt'.
what does the question mean? Do we have a list?
extract_slav.txt provides one list.
The question is whether some of these actually appear in cyrillic (or other non-latin alphabet) text in the scans.
For instance, the first example is
; <L>52<pc>002-b<k1>agni
{%ugni-s%}, slav. {%ognj%}, goth. {%auhn'-s%} hypocaustum, fornax
and the corresponding scan from page 2 is
So, in this case no action is needed.
Perhaps all are like this -- or maybe not. The other instances could be similarly examined.
@funderburkjim
I had a fresh look again at Slavonic and Russian strings-- slav strings.txt russ strings.txt
Here is the summary of Slavonic strings' working--
14 occ.s of ζ (greek small) in italic (transliterated) Greeko-Roman strings 10 occ.s of ϱ (greek small) in Slavonic strings 13 occ.s of Ͳ (greek capital) in Slavonic strings 8 occ.s of Λ (greek capital) in Slavonic strings 10 occ.s of Ⲁ (coptic capital) in Slavonic strings 3 occ.s of ї (cyrillic small) in Slavonic strings 3 occ.s of ꙋ (cyrillic small) in Slavonic strings
27 nos. of cyrillic capitals present in Slavonic strings (Б, В, Г, Д, Е, Ж, З, И, Й, К, М, Н, О, П, С, С́, У, Ц, Ч, Ш, Ъ, Ы, Ь, Ю, Ѣ, Ѧ, Ѫ)
And there are 5 typos in the italic (transliterated) Greeko-Roman strings, marked as comments starting with ;;
---------------------
And, here is the summary of Russian strings' working--
3 occ.s of ζ (greek small) in italic (transliterated) Greeko-Roman strings
33 nos. of cyrillic small letters present in Russian strings (а, а̀, а́, в, г, д, е, ѐ, ж, з, и, й, к, л, м, н, о, о̀, п, р, у, х, ц, ч, ш, ъ, ы, ь, ю, ю̀, і, ѣ, у̀)
It may be noted that while Slavonic strings have the Coptic & Greek letters along with Cyrillic letters (mixed small & capital cases), the Russian strings have only Cyrillic letters (all in small case).
---------------------
Finally, here is the fresh Arabic string that was partially filled last time (2nd item)--
<L>7191<pc>317-b<k1>वि<k2>वि<h>1
… … pers. <lang n="Arabic">بى</lang> {%bî%} sine, e. c. <lang n="Arabic">بيباك </lang> metu vacuus … …
@funderburkjim
To ease your work, I had spent a little time to re-arrange the strings of the above exercise; and here is the result-- Modified strings.txt
Just for info-- I did not spend time looking at the 3rd ed. of Bopp (as thought earlier), but rechecked with the 2nd ed. itself.
I went ahead and made the corrections from Modified_strings file.
Note: Several of these changes were nearly 'invisible' -- to better understand the changes at the unicode character level, see Modified_strings_uni.txt.
@Andhrabharati Thanks for the files you uploaded.
@AnnaRybakovaT -- We'll work on another task when you are available. Are we done with the Greek proofreading, or is there one more dictionary that remains on your Greek proofreading list?
Closing this issue.
@AnnaRybakovaT was requested to take up BEN greek revision, and she agreed to do it next.

Yes, correct, I will be able to do it in couple of weeks.
Please refer to #4 where this topic was begun. I'll prepare instructions for @AnnaRybakovaT in a moment.
