Namaste http://www.sanskrit-lexicon.uni-koeln.de/scans/PWGScan/2013/web/webtc2/index.php On the PWG Advanced search, there are only -

  1. Sanskrit Word search and
  2. Text word search. So searching for exact head word is not possible. Search always returns all entries, wherever the word given appears in the text. Eg. A search for "has" as prefix returns 3 आदर 4 उ 5 उदय 6 कथोदय 7 त्यज् 8 नर्मन् 9 मध्यमपद 10 मुधा 11 उपहार 12 छिद् 13 तर 14 रुध् 15 लज्ज् 16 ली where "Hasita" "hasika" etc. would be preferred. Please make only head-word search possible - (as a prefix, suffix combinations etc.) Thankyou

Jim, is there a solution for the issue? Had same problems on my end.

There is now a way to restrict Sanskrit word search to headwords only, text only, or headwords and text. This is for PWG2013. This seems to solve this issue, so I am closing it.

A pity it's not universal around the other dictionaries.

A kind word, along with the gripe, would have been appreciated.

Regarding other dictionaries, it is not always applicable. It depends on which dictionary. When other dictionaries where applicable are brought to my attention, I can implement.

Oh, I must say that I'm impressed and words can't express all good feelings I feel to the regular tough job for years around the Sanskrit NLP issues. I must excuse myself that I might have sounded rude. It's perfect and I lacked the option myself many times before.
