Re wil:vimbeHzWa,35577:vimbOzWa:t:eH
Am adjusting to 'no change'
Here is the entry:
vimbeHzWa [p= 779] : .vimbeHzWa¦ mfn. (-zWaH-zWI-zWaM) Red-lipped, having lips like the Vimba fruit. E. vimba as above, and ozWa the lip; also vimbOzWa.
Since author mentions vimbOzWa as an alternate (occurs in SKD), we should leave unchanged.
However, not sure how vimbeH (abl. or gen. of vimbu) and ozWa (lip) can grammatically result in vimbeHzWa - Why is 'o' of ozWa dropped?
Analysis finished.
I disagree. OzWa and ozWa are alternate. ezWa can never occur in grammar.
bimba(vimba)+ozWa is the base word. वृद्धिरेचि causes बिम्बौष्ठ. ओत्वोष्ठयोः vArttika gives पररूप i.e. बिम्बोष्ठ.
OK. I'll go with vimbOzWa.
Note I put a little message in the text in this case. @zaaf2 Has suggested we do this generally.
.विम्बौष्ठ¦ mfn. (-ष्ठः-ष्ठी-ष्ठं) (text shows विम्बेःष्ठ) Red-lipped, having lips like the Vimba fruit. E. विम्ब as above, and ओष्ठ the lip; also विम्बौष्ठ। [Page780]
