Links 4 and 5 on http://www.sanskrit-lexicon.uni-koeln.de/scans/PWGScan/2013/web/webtc/download.html do not work, please fix. pwgweball.zip (1500MB!) Materials to construct an offline version of the web displays of the dictionary, including scanned images directory web/pdfpages pwgweb.zip Materials to construct an offline version of the web displays of the dictionary. Note: Due to size constraints, the directory 'web/pdfpages' is not included. So, this offline version does not include access to the scanned images.

pwgweb.zip now available, and also pwgweball.zip. I downloaded pwgweb and tried briefly with server2go, and all displays seem to work.

Thanks, everything works fine now. More than 1000 megabytes do look strange. 1) pwgweball.zip (1500MB!) -> pwgweball.zip (1.5 Gb!) And I would add the size to every file indeed: 2) pwgweb.zip -> pwgweb.zip (45 Mb) 3) Is there enough server place to add 1 button to download all files? 4) File names in .pdf books are numerals. In my version of pdfs (based on Thomas' ttf files from a DVD sent to me in 2002): -- files are named after the first word on the page, so I can browse quickly -- files have prefaces and lists of abbreviations (OCRing them to make the text available as .txt or .pdf one day)

@funderburkjim Time to respond to small suggestions from @gasyoun

One year anniversary.

funderburkjim commented 9 years ago

Both links now work . Happy Anniversary ! :sunglasses:

Regarding #4 (file names in PDFS): If you open up the bookmarks in each pdf, you should see first word on page. That's why the files are named pwg1_bookmark.pdf ,etc.

Regarding 3) - Not enough server space for a zip of everything.

@gasyoun Close the issue?

gasyoun commented 9 years ago

Not enough server space for a zip of everything. - how much is needed? We could host it as a .torrent somewhere else, the question would be how to update the files without hassle.

gasyoun commented 8 years ago

@funderburkjim torrent seems the way to give it a 2nd life, if the server will go down. Or if you will convert to Hindi. Everything will be lost.
