Calendar section? #137

God dammit! You nailed it! This is exactly the kind of thing (the only,
really) I've been missing from my jailbreaked iPhone!

Are you familiar with lockinfo (cydia)? That one had a section that could be
enabled that showed the X number of upcoming events from the calendar. I
wouldrreally love to see that in your app. Then I can power on the screen and
have all the info needed without unlocking or anything.

Btw, where do I send the money? If I saw this on Google play I would easily
pay $20 for it!

Cheers!

Right now I quickly added you widget. I'm using widget locker on android 4.1.2.
Looks strange with different fonts and margins, but it works. I'd like to see
calendar added in the same way as your notifications.

Hi and thanks.
The recent v1.0 release has a new feature called "Persistent Notifications", it
allow you to put persistent notifications from apps on the widget, so you can
use "Quick Calendar" app, for example, that creates a notification with
upcoming event and put its notification in the widget.

Ah, ok. I guess that means that you didnt dig the idea? :) A calendarwidget
with the same design from you is probably not going to happend either? The
suggestion you have is probably working, but its clogging up the whole
statusbar with many notifications. I dont really understand how the
notifications works on android. On the iPhone it seems to be collected in a
pool, easily grabbed from every application. With android it seems like you
have to have something scanning everything going through talkback to be
able to catch it.

I'm closing this issue, there is a future plan to support DashClock extensions
within NiLS, that should cover this feature request.

Having the possibility to add extensions to NiLS would be great! Hopefully
there will be a good enough calendar widget by then; at the moment the whole
DashClock eco-system is more oriented towards "minimal" design than
productivity.
