Attaching Galaxy S4 has intermittent gmail notifications

If not for ur app this phone was going back.  Having been an iphone 4s user I'm 
use to having notifications, ls and otherwise. In fact I'm stunned by just how 
bad email is covered on an S4 running 4.2.2
With all that said,  after a morning reboot I get ls notifications via audio and
 banners.  As the day goes on I start seeing less and less. I can hear my iPhone pinging
 and listing incoming mail while the Galaxy does nothing. By noon time I've probably missed a dozen emails. Which may be worse than having no notifications at all. My take on the whole thing is that the phone/os is just not a quality product. It's bloated with duplicates of crap that nobody wants 
Yet has an email system that contends for the "worst I've seen" on any device. 

Anyway, there it is.. Oh Fyi do to bloat available ram is usually 500-700meg. I 
have 24hr to bail on the phone but I'm not sure that any Android phone is going 
to provide a solid gmail system and I refuse to sign another 2yr contract for 
basically another 4s with a headphone jack in the btm and another row of icons! 
So any help or advice would be appreciated!

I don't understand. Beside complaining in Samsung s4 what is the issue?
Gmail notifications works just fine. Are you using Google gmail app?

I'd been using iPhone for years now. In it I receive Notification banners for 
Gmail, and Facebook Messenger. With my new Galaxy S4, I don't get Banner's 
Notifications. I missed a lot od messages on time because of that. To be 
honest, I don't use phone calls at all. I communicate mostly through Gmail and 
Facebook Messenger. I renewed my contract with Rogers for another 2 years 
because I hear a lot of good things about the Galaxy S4, but I'm very 
disappointed. I cannot get all the good things I have with my iPhone S4. If I 
don't going to be able to get notification Banners, I will return the dam 
thing. It's not worthy to renew my contract for 2 years if I don't going to be 
happy! I will appreciate any feedback. Thanks, robherhk
