gallery preview bar #239

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

When the app is active, my gallery preview bar will not go away (and blocks a
little bit of the pictures) is there a workaround to this? I have a Galaxy S4.

This is a bug on samsung devices. when any accessibility service enabled, the
device activates some features of TalkBack, some devices starts speaking and
some suffering from the problem you described. the Gallery app thinks that
TalkBack is active so it doesn't hide the menus to allow you to click on the
buttons and hear their labels.
Unfortunately I can't fix this.
Try to disable all of TalkBack features on Accessibility settings, although
it's not enabled.

Still an issue for me as well. No way to completely disable Samsung
Text-to-Speech either. Sad, because I really enjoy NiLS widget, but sadly must
uninstall because of this issue.

You can install an other TTS engine like "Classic Text to speech" without
installing any language pack, then set it as your default TTS engine, this will
silent the device.

Installed Classic Text to Speech. But how do you not install any language pack?

When you first launch it - it suggest you to install language - just don't do
it. go to input language settings and choose it as the default tts engine. it
should be silent.

Just did that and this unfortunately did not solve the original issue as posted
by Heather in the original post.

It won't solve the gallery issue but will solve the speak issue.
The gallery issue cannot be solved by me. I heard that Samsung already fixed
this but who know when you'll get an update...
