Pixelated texture overlayed on screen during loading

Description:

I recently ran into an issue with a channel that loads a large number
of files. When the channel is initialized for the first time there is
a very pixelated gray box overlaid over the whole screen during the loading 
process. It goes away after everything has been loaded and things seem to be 
working fine.

However after leaving and re-starting the channel it comes back for
the first few seconds approximately every other time the channel is started.

If the bug is reproducable, please describe here. If necessary also provide
information about channel ID to be opened and steps to be taken to
reproduce error:

The channel that this happened on was "Rekindling Venus Scanner". The issue 
repeats randomly upon opening RVS. The overlay appears while the view box has 
the loading circle and disappears as soon as it is done. I would say it happens 
40% of the time that I open the channel. An example Marker can be found here
