When the application is run on HTC Magic 1.5 a blank screen is shown and after a while, force close is given

thank you for providing the log!
on line 54 it fails to set the previewdisplay, which is something that has only 
to be 
done on 1.5 devices.
i shifted that code to the surfaceCreated method.
could you try if that works. I attached an apk of that version.

Thanks, but it's giving me the same problem. The blank screen hangs for a 
couple of 
seconds, and after a while force close appears.
